Shavuot occurs on 6th of Sivan.

In the Gregorian calendar Shavuot is Late in May or mid-June.

Shavuot celebrates the anniversary of God giving the Torah to the Jewish people at Mount Sinai.
Shavuot concludes the 49 days of Counting of the Omer that begins on the second night of Passover, anticipating receiving the Torah.

The Counting of the Omer is a 49-day period of counting, starting from the second night of Passover and concluding with the holiday of Shavuot.  It represents the spiritual journey from Passover to the receiving of the Torah at Mount Sinai on Shavuot.

The Counting of the Omer is derived from Leviticus 23:15–16.  It marks each of the 49 days with a nightly blessing.

In biblical times, Shavuot signaled the end of the barley harvest, the start of the wheat harvest and the beginning of the fruit season.

Devout Jews stay up all night on Shavuot, studying the Book of Ruth in the Torah to show commitment and enthusiasm for the laws received at Sinai.
